Dell Venue 8 7840 'World's Thinnest Tablet' at 6mm Goes on Sale

Dell and Intel last year had announced the Venue 8 7000 Series Android tablet, pegging it as the "world's thinnest tablet" and saying it would be released in the holiday season. The series has now gone up for sale in the US in the form of the Dell Venue 8 7840 at $399.99 (approximately Rs. 24,500).
Touted as the world's thinnest tablet at 6mm, the Dell Venue 8 7840 tablet is available via Best Buy. As yet, there is no information on the availability of the tablet for other regions outside the US by Dell.
The Dell Venue 8 7840 runs Android 4.4 KitKat and features an 8.4-inch Quad-HD (2560x1600) OLED display. It sports a quad-core Intel Atom Z3500 series SoC, clocked at 2.3GHz, alongside a PowerVR G6430 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It packs an 8-megapixel rear camera and a front 2-megpixel shooter.

20,000 Nokia N1 Tablets Sell Out in 4 Minutes: Report

Nokia (or to be precise, Foxconn) managed to sell 20,000 N1 tablet units in its first flash in just four minutes in China, according to the latest report. Notably, the device was launched in China at a CNY 1,599 (Rs. 16,300 approximately) price tag on Wednesday. The tablet has also appeared in GFXBench and AnTuTu benchmarks.
The firm, following the flash sales method like Xiaomi, will again let interested users buy the device on January 15. The flash sales however, would still be limited to China only, as per Blogjackphone - the publication that reported how fast the tablets were sold out.  

Asus ZenFone 2 With 4GB RAM, ZenFone Zoom With Optical Zoom Launched at CES

Asus, as expected, on Monday launched the ZenFone 2 at CES 2015 alongside the ZenFone Zoom - a smartphone with 3x optical zoom.
The Taiwanese handset maker revealed that the new Asus ZenFone 2 will be available in Q2 2015 (March) in several colour variants - Ceramic White, Glacier Gray, Glamour Red, Osmium Black, and Sheer Gold. It will be available at a starting price of $199 (Rs. 12,600 approximately).

CES 2015: Asus unveils ZenFone 2 smartphone with 4GB RAM

LAS VEGAS: Asus has launched the second iteration of its ZenFone series, unveiling the ZenFone 2 (ZE551ML), its new flagship smartphone at CES 2015 in Las Vegas.

The phone comes with a new ergonomic design, a 5.5-inch Full HD and a (1280x1920p) IPS display with a wide 178-degree viewing angle. Asus claims its TruVivid technology enhances display performance more with brighter colors. The display has a narrow 3.3mm bezel, giving ZenFone 2 a 72% screen-to-body ratio, and is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The ZenFone 2 is powered by an up to 2.3GHz 64-bit Intel Atom processor Z3580 and has 4GB RAM to deliver up to seven times faster gaming performance than its predecessor. According to the company, the phone's 60ms touch response time ensures lag-free input, and OpenGL 3.0 provides enhanced gaming performance.
